Diving in Indonesia
12 documented dive sites, 7 of them for Open Water divers. Known for blacktip reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks and turtles.
Pick a month: the diving season, from published sources, and the typical weather.
Pick a month
The warmest water of the year. The windiest month.
Typical weather, not a forecast: averages for 2021–2025 (air, rain, wind) and 2023–2025 (sea), data from Open-Meteo (ERA5 / Copernicus, Météo-France). Covers an area of roughly 10 to 25 km around the destination.
Diving is year-round. Operators give April–October (Manta Dive) / May–October (BASK) as best; the December–February/March rains bring plankton and lower visibility (10–15 m vs 15–25 m+), but also the best manta chances. November–March is shown as good, not possible, because sites remain diveable all year.
From the easiest to the most demanding. Levels with a dashed outline are estimates we are still verifying.
